The jamaican Reggae Dancehall Veteran Deejay Mikeylous the Wakeup Boss formerly Nigger Mikey run into the Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen.
He was holding a vibe in a park right next to the presidential residence with Father Kutta from Baba Sound, who invited the Deejay for his 20th Soundsystem Anniversary to the the Austrian capital Vienna. After shooting a video clip for fun calling out the president to wake up, couple minutes later, all of a sudden the Austrian president passed by with an assistant and a security walking his puppy right next to the bench they were sitting on shooting the video.
Since Kutta recognized the president he asked him to take a picture including a small video clip with his artist friend and guest who just came all the way from st Ann Jamaica to visit Vienna.
After a few days while recording dubplates for local Sounds in Baba’s Studio the talented lyrical Deejay came up with the idea of a Song about Meeting the president. Father Kutta did not hesitate to look for a proper Riddim that could fit and as he played the late great Bobby Digital’s Version of the Lecturer Riddim licked by Computer Paul for digital B records that actually originated in the late 60ies Mikeylous came up with the hook “austria we deh, weh dem love reggae” the rest is history…
A few days later the song went viral and the great GT Taylor first played it on his famous Reggae Radio Station in Jamaica and the same day a journalist from the newspaper “the Jamaican Star” called Mikeylous phone, did a short Interview and the next morning it was all over Jamaica in the printed Entertainment Report and the digital world reached by the famous Media.
Following Sunday while still in Austria Mikeylous went live on IRIE FM via Phone call by Kabu Ma’at Kheru who was highlighting the new Hitsong on her Program The Africa Forum – Running African.
Before reaching back to Jamaica The Wakeup Boss was still able to perform the Song live at his Concert in Vienna where he and Baba could manage to shoot the video directed by Anti TV Phat finalizing the day after, wich was world premiered on Reggaeville a European platform for Reggae Music.
